Plug in the straightener and wait for it to heat up. It usually takes a few minutes. Brush your hair to remove any tangles. Section your hair and clip away the rest to work with one section at a time. Take a small section of hair and hold the straightener with the plates open. Place the section of hair between the plates, close the plates, and slowly glide the straightener down the hair towards the ends to straighten it.
